About this project:
This is one of the side projects that I did in 2022 to challenge myself on how far I can improve a brand that I have little knowledge of in a country that I haven't been to before. The challenge is only for 48hrs - I utilised my weekend to work on it.
The whole brief and objective of this project is imaginative, that I think I can work around it.
About SWYPE:
SWYPE or Yallo Swype is Switzerland's first app-based mobile subscription. Yallo is part of Sunrise Communications AG, one of the leading mobile providers in Switzerland.

Catering to younger generations. Swype is offering a simple solution that would fit their needs, providing excellent mobile customer experience, or providing a convenient and empowering solution for their mobile subscriptions.
Key objectives:
Swype wants to position itself as “More than just a Telco provider”
- Selling digital services (Netflix, Spotify, insurance,...).
- Rewards system to increase interaction between customer and product.
- E-wallet will be used as a payment method.
Market research:
What I learnt from the research:
The majority of people in Switzerland are using Swisscom, but the price is high and the system is old. Therefore it's not suitable for the new generation who doesn't want to spend too much and wish to have a faster, self-serve service.
Develop persona:
This is the persona that I find will be a suitable representative of the target audience for SWYPE.
Another surprise that I learnt during the whole process is in Switzerland, to pay any utility bill, the user will receive the bill over the mail. They will input or scan the bill number to the banking app to make the payment. However, it might take a few days for the bank to verify and confirm the payment.
As a user, I find this whole process can be improved with the payment gateway in the app, and may even develop a reward system to discount any utility bill in future. There might be regulations in place in Switzerland that I don't know of but this is room for user experience improvement.
Design:
With all that information in hand, I was confident enough to start working on the design.
First I work on the user flow for the app. View detail of user flow
Due to the short time frame I gave myself, I choose some of the main screens that I find can represent well and give me a good big picture of the app.
With Low-Fi and user flow in hand, I was being able to start on my Hi-Fi design. View Hi-Fi prototype
What I have learned during the whole process:
I feel proud of myself that I can pull off the research and design within that little time. I'm happy to see myself still can create, and crafting the design. This project is not about improving anyone's product or any particular market, it's about me sharing my ideas and maybe someone may find it helpful to them.
